The secret of the Banana Bud

Banana bud or the sciencetific name; Musa paradisiaca or mostly known as jantung pisang for Malaysian had been used by Sabahan as vegetables. It is also had a good effect towards our body. It is to be said to avoid strock and brain bleeding. It is also goods for heart and blood vessels.

In Banana bud, contains 1.2 protein, 0.3% fat, 7 % carbohydrate, phosporus and ion. i would to share a traditional Sabahan way of making Banana Bud Salad (kerabu jantung pisang).
You need:
300g banana bud washed and thinely sliced
70g dried prawns
2 cups grated coconut, fried dry and pounded
6 or more if like it hot chillies finely sliced
3 big onions finely sliced
5 shallots fine;y sliced
4 tsb of lime juice
1 tsb of tumeric powder
Salt to taste
Firstly, boil a water and quickly blanch sliced banana bud then drain it. Put all ingredients in a mixing bowl toss well over. season with salt and serve. This is just the basic recipe, you can add any ingredient as you like. Enjoy it!
